| CEO - Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria Chair – Joint Epilepsy Council of Australia Graeme Shears joined the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria in May 2008 as Chief Executive Office after 20 years experience in management, senior executive and consulting roles. He has a reputation of being a creative leader with a record of delivering significant improvements in organisational performance. With a brother who has epilepsy, Graeme brings to the role a personal insight into the many issues facing those living with epilepsy and their families. Ongoing learning is an aspect of Graeme’s make-up that reflects openness to new ideas and a desire to look for creative solutions. Since obtaining an undergraduate degree in Business Studies (Accounting), he has undertaken post graduate studies in change leadership with Professor Gerry Glover, University of Hawaii, and Masters study in manufacturing management systems, economics, and computer accounting at Monash University, Melbourne. Prior to accepting the role at Epilepsy Foundation Victoria (EFV) Graeme ran an independent consulting business that he established in 1996. Intuitt focussed on the not for profit sector and helped leaders of organization’s (government, not-for-profit and private sector) engage strategically with stakeholders and align organizational resources to ensure effective and sustainable delivery of outcomes. Intuitt has provided pro-bono support to peak bodies to help shape the sector’s response to Government policy. Over the years, Graeme have been actively engaged in the community through involvement as a committee member of various sporting clubs and disability agencies. Graeme is past Rear-Commodore and a member of the Committee of Management of the Pt Leo Boat Club and presently has a seat on the Board/Committee of Management of Inclusion Melbourne Foundation, Chronic Illness Alliance, and the Joint Epilepsy Council of Australia. Active in education matters, Graeme is Vice-President of Carlton North Primary School Council. |
