On behalf of the Scientific Organising Committee, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 8th Asian & Oceanian Epilepsy Congress (AOEC) which will take place in the exciting city of Melbourne, Australia from October 21st - 24th, 2010. Congress updates

  • The 8th AOEC will take place in the brand new Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from the 20th – 24th October 2010.
  • The full scientific programme is listed on the Scientific Programme pages of this website.
  • The ASEPA Clinical Epilepsy and Basic Science Workshops have been revised to reflect the latest information on these aspects of epilepsy. Please click here for the revised programmes
  • The congress committee would like to thank the State of Victoria and the City of Melbourne for their generous contribution in hosting the 8th AOEC.
  • If you are interested in exhibiting at the 8th AOEC, just email melbourne@epilepsycongress.org for further details
  • A special programme for those living with epilepsy and staff from community  organizations will run on Thursday 21st October; highlights include a talk from widely published sociologist Graham Scambler from University of Central London and the popular Australian television sports presenter and  author Wally Lewis.
  • There is so much to see and do in the State of Victoria. If you can, consider taking a few extra days off to spend some time exploring the region, you won’t regret it. There are a wide range of pre and post congress tours available on the Tours pages of this website.
  • Over 120 world renowned Australian, regional and international speakers have confirmed their participation at the 8th AOEC.
  • A selection of pre-congress workshops organised by ASEPA have recently been announced.
  • The 8th AOEC has recently been promoted at the 9th European Congress on Epileptology in Rhodes and the ASEPA Epilepsy Surgery Course in Bandung.
  • Thank you to all those that submitted an abstract. The acceptance of abstracts and the recipients of the travel bursary awards was announced at the beginning of August.
  • An ASEPA-ANZAN EEG Course will take place in Melbourne on the 18th and 19th October; please click here for more details
