Didactic Lectures


A number of didactic lectures pertaining to crucial aspects of contemporary epileptology will be given by world-renowned experts in their respective field. The lectures are organized by the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA), which is the educational arm of the Commission on Asian and Oceanian Affairs (CAOA).

Genetics of the epilepsies; an update - Sam BERKOVIC (Australia)
Neurobiologic aspects of depression in epilepsy: do they explain the high comorbidity of the two disorders? - Andres KANNER (USA)
Surgical treatment of occipital lobe epilepsy: basic and clinical approach - Tatsuya TANAKA (Japan)

The fundamentals as well as state-of-the-art implications of the topics will be covered. All those who wish to attend any of these lectures are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the speaker and their works.
