Masakazu Seino, who passed away in March 2007, devoted his life to the education of epilepsy in Asia. He organized the Commission on Asian and Oceanian Affairs (CAOA) and set up the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) under the umbrella of ILAE.

In this memorial lecture, Simon SHORVON (UK) will give a special didactic lecture on: Heredity as the cause of epilepsy.
